One of the boys

This look is very "tom boy". Something I don't try very often, It's kinda fun! I've been in the process of making my style a bit edgier as I plan on moving to Los Angeles. I find myself wearing a lot more black than I used to. Generally that was something I avoided, but I've been really into it lately!

I'm wearing a current elliot vest, shirt from sheinside.com, and Jeffrey Campbell boots.

Peaches & Lace

I fell in love as soon as I saw this top! So unique. It was pretty difficult to find the right bottoms for it so I opted for a simple black pencil skirt and balanced out the outfit with a black hat. And my suede platforms matched the peach color of the top just perfectly!

So I spent much of this past week visiting Los Angeles. I love being in the city, so much inspiration. The fashion up there is such a step up compared to San Diego. I spent much of my time just sitting in cafes and coffee shops just people watching. I can't wait to maybe move there! On a side note "Sweater Weather" by The Neighborhood is my new favroite song, I don't even want to know how many times I've listened to it this week! Listen to it or die. xoxo!

Red Hot Pants

Every girls needs a pair of pants that scream "Look at my legs!!!". These are my red hot pants.
Now time to brag a bit about my extreme thriftiness!
The pants are Ralph Lauren but I snagged them at buffalo exchange for $17.
The top is a super old school lucky brand denim button up with embroidered flower detail. Got this at a thrift shop for like $5. So funny how brands go in and out. I used to LOVE Lucky Jeans. now they are just kinda "meh". I feel like they waited to long to join the skinny jeans trend to stay true to the 70's flared look, and that didn't do so well for them. But despite that I adore this quirky top!
The shoes are Boutique 9. They originally retailed for $160 but I spotted them on clearance at ross for $20! And on top of that I got an additional discount for saying they looked worn (which was obviously the intentional style haha, so cheating). Ended up getting these bad boys for $15.
If i wasn't such a deal hunter I could not afford my shopping lifestyle!

Cat's Meow

________________________________

So this sweater is my new favorite thing ever. It's just too much and I love it. So funny what a huge trend cats have become. I layered the sweater with a white button up and corduroy skirt.
I paired some lace up boots and socks to give it a playful schoolgirl look.

Get the same sweater here:

Knit Floral

__________________________________

In the winter I love just throwing on a knit dress with some leggings. It's effortless, comfortable, and looks great. How fun is the quirky floral design on this one?
This adorable knit floral dress was sent to me from www.sheinside.com.
They have a ton of adorable clothing on their site so be sure to check it out!

All these photos were taken by my favorite (and only) sister Dominique Nagel. I think she captured the beautiful afternoon sunlight so nicely. It gives the photos such a dreamy feel.

Star Studded

__________________________

Found this little gem at Buffalo Exchange (Yes, one of my favorite places) on sale for $9! Complete with metal collar embellishments and covered in star shaped studs. Such a fun and unique dress. I'm not sure what you would call this detached collar, but I am loving this trend.

Check out one my my recent blog post featuring another star spangled look and some other starry trends I gathered together-

Girly Meets Edgy

___________________________

Oh how I love Mullet skirts, feminine & funky.
Lately I have been obsessed with a "girly meets edgy" style,
I think this outfit is a good example of that.

This next week I will be on a work trip in Las Vegas for Magic Trade show.  One of the words biggest fashion trade shows. I'm so excited! I'm being sent there to gather inspiration for my designs. I get to take a sneak peak into what is going to be hot the next couple seasons. I'm going to try and secretly snap a few shots and share what I saw with you guys :)

Is it spring yet? I'm so ready for it.
I got this statement hot pink maxi dress at forever 21 for only $10!
I think most people were afraid of it, but not I.
It's fun to stand out with bright colors and unique cuts.

All good things are wild & free

__________________________

First fashion post of the new year! I have been feeling inspired lately to explore and travel more often. This is my wild & free gypsy outfit. Perfect for a day of adventure. This skirt is my all time favorite, and what makes it even more amazing is it's made of velvet!

Home is wherever I'm with you

_________________________

As a graphic designer I'm always keeping an eye out for great design. Recently at a Fashion Tradeshow in LA I stumbled upon this awesome small company called Love Nail Tree. In the pictures below I am wearing one of their sweaters and necklace. They make awesome graphic tees and jewelry. They also have a great message to spread. Below is their mission statement found on their website. Thought they were worth sharing!

www.lovenailtree.com

"LOVE NAIL TREE IS A COMPANY DEDICATED TO PROVOKING CONVERSATION ABOUT TOPICS NEGLECTED AND OFTEN IGNORED BY OUR WORLD. WE BELIEVE THAT STORYTELLING IS THE NECESSARY DRIVE FOR THE KIND OF DIALOGUE NEEDED AMONG PEOPLE FOR CHANGE; WE EXIST TO REVEAL THE POWER THAT STORIES POSSESS TO DRAMATICALLY ALTER THE COLD, HARD HEART. WE EXPLOIT APPAREL, JEWELRY, FILM, AND PRINT TO EMBODY THE STORIES WE CREATE AND TELL, AND IT IS OUR ADDED PASSION TO HAVE A SIGNIFICANT VOICE AGAINST THE DECEPTION, OVER-CONSUMPTION, AND FICKLENESS FOUND IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY. IT IS OUR DESIRE TO SEE THE STORIES WE TELL MOVE PEOPLE TO ACTION AND INSPIRE A DEEP CHANGE WITHIN THEM."

Hello Deer

 ________________________

There is nothing better than a cozy sweater in chilly weather. I have been lusting after a similar deer sweater made by Wildfox. But there was no way I could justify paying $250 for a sweater. Once I saw this one for a fraction of the cost($25) at forever 21 I had to get it! It's too perfect for this time of year. Here is a fun winter ensemble for this brisk Christmas! Happy holidays everyone!
