Street Smart

Decided one pair over overalls just wasn't enough. The thing I like about these ones is they fit on my waist and legs just like skinny jeans would unlike a lot of what else is out there right now.
A few of my friends recently commented that my style has been very "street" recently. One person even refered to me as "streetwear dani", haha. Anyways I was kinda horrified by this because I feel like "street" is synonymous with "ghetto". But there's no denying that fashion trends have strayed far from the girly and bohemian look that was so popular and gone more into a streetwear direction. I will admit I have been indulging in this casual urban look a bit too much lately and here's another example of it!

Winter Florals

This Dress! It's a Reformation X Urban Collaboration. I love love everything reformation puts out. This is one of those statement pieces you just have to own. Long gathered sleeves, front & back cutouts, & floor length with legs slits. Talk about attention to detail! During the winter months I'm more drawn to dark floral prints with black backgrounds. The only problem with a dress like this is you never seem to wear it because you feel like there has to be a really good reason to, I know every girl can relate to this!

Glam Grunge

Who would have thought long frumpy plaid skirts would be considered hot?!
This is why I love fashion, it cracks me up. This is one of those outfits I'm sure I'll cringe at 10 years down the road, but right now I absolutely love it. Paired with my beanie & muscle tank this look is very grunge, but I threw some heels in the mix to give it a more sleek and feminine vibe.

Man Repeller

I was hunting for the perfect pair of overalls for months and when I found these guys I was ecstatic! Probably one of my favorite man-repelling trends of the winter. I swear I'm going to end up a crazy cat lady! Ha sometimes I wish I could post about my crazy dating life on here, but it's much too risky.
I just finished reading the book "The Man Repeller" by Leandra Medine. She's a fabulous fashion blogger who writes about her wild sartorial quest, and how if often seems to repel members of the opposite sex. Her books tagline is "Seeking love, Finding overalls", and I'm like "AMEN SISTA!". I wouldn't say the book is in my top five favorites, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm all about dressing for the girls and not the boys. Anyways, obviously the boys LOVE the dungarees, ulra sexy.

Plaid & Leather

I can't get enough leather and plaid. It's getting out of hand. I got these shorts at crossroads, go figure! They are actually real leather, I'm kinda scared to wear them and get them ruined haha. If there were ever a pair of shorts perfect for fall these are it. You just have to wear them with tights or high socks. These socks are from my friend's company www.tabbisocks.com. They are cozy & amazing.

Take me to the stars

Best. Sweater. Ever. There's nothing better than big comfy sweaters paired with leggings in fall. Perfect for those days where you just feel lazy, but still wanna look kinda cute! I found this WILDFOX sweater at crossroads this past summer and have been waiting for cold weather to wear it. As a female t-shirt designer I love checking out all the fun stuff WILDFOX comes up with. Sometimes I toy with the idea of starting my own women's graphic dress line kinda similar! Perhaps sometime in the future. My rad friend Casey designs for them, see some of his recent work here: www.pinterest.com/caseywisden/my-work

Black on Black

A huge trend this fall & winter is all black erry' thang! I used to hate too much black but lately I can't get enough. Here I'm wearing a loose basic black tee, high waisted shorts with tights, and a denim jacket. Wearing tights with shorts or skirts is a great and cozy look for these colder months.

Cozy Chic

This fall color blocking has been brought back with a neutral twist. I've had a strange love/hate relationship with my wardrobe this past few months. I blame it on moving to LA! I've been trading my bright floral prints in for more basic prints & neutral colors. This fall is all about cozy chic! Oversize sweaters and lighter wash jeans are all I want to wear. I'll opt for flats during the day, but switch them out for ultra tall heels for night. The heels instantly give a effortless yet chic look.

Studs & Socks

So it's been awhile since I've done a post. It's just been so busy, but I'm trying to get back in the swing of things. I've been on the hunt for a good pair of full-length overalls but keep getting short ones or dresses! I feel in love as soon as I tried this dress on. I'm a sucker for studs. It's by this really cool brand called Ragged Priest. I paired it with this black beanie & my new favorite accessory, long socks! I'm going to be rocking them all fall I've decided. Such an easy way to take an outfit to the next level.

Still Summer

Well technically it is fall, but it sure doesn't feel like it in LA! I've been dying to wear my fur coat and layer up. But alas here in sunny California it's as warm as ever. Guess I'm stuck wear sundress for a little longer! This is dress is one of my summer favorites. super loose & frumpy, just the way I like it! I love the orange embroidery details.

Floral Bomber

Bomber jackets are huge for this fall. I was walking around the adorable boutiques in Los Feliz when I saw this painted floral print jacket and had to get it! I'm normally such s bargain girl and will only buy clothes that are deeply discounted or second hand, but I simply needed this jacket. It's made by a really cool brand out of Australia called Somedays Lovin'. I swear all the Aussie brands are killing it right now! I paired this jacket with a velvet turban from sports girl (another aussie brand), a lace cropped top from free people, mullet skirt from urban, & wedge Jeffrey Campbells.

Casual Cool

Haven't been able to do many shoots lately but I finally got around to it! I love this laid back grunge look. Bomber jackets have been a favorite of mine lately. They are perfect for the cool evenings and if it gets too hot you can just tie them around your waist 90s style or drape them over your shoulders.
One of my best friends Kate & I are obsessed with cape-ing our jackets! We this it's super cute and mom-ish.

Overalls & Snapbacks

Overalls!!!! I can't get enough. Being a 90's kid myself, I'm so into this 90's trend. I've been seeing street wear looks all over. I'm normally so girly and hate "casual" looking clothes, but lately I've been loving my converse & baseball caps for a cute & laid back look. I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair of short overalls and found these guys at American Apparel. It can be hard finding ones that fit and are somewhat flattering. I'm normally a small but opted to go XS on these. And don't even get me started on these shoes! I'm obsessed. They are so unique and fun, but also extremely comfortable. I wore them the entire WWDmagic show walking around for two days straight and they didn't bother me at all. Also got some fun freebies when the ladies at the Jeffrey Campbell booth saw me rocking them!
